3 Ways to Keep Your Employees Satisfied When They Return to the Office

When we speak of our employees, we refer to those responsible for making our business prosper: the internal customers. In 2021, even after a global pandemic, it is necessary to keep our employees (internal customers) satisfied in order to achieve our target sales. We must always be aware that a big part of the success of our company depends on our workers. According to studies conducted by Gallup.com, an employee who is satisfied tends to get more involved, is more present, and therefore increases productivity. This increase in productivity can elevate business profits by up to 21% more.

In this blog I will focus specifically on the importance of having the appropriate spaces for our workers and how that can change their perception of coming to work for the better. These spaces can include break rooms, office spaces, conference rooms, etcetera. According to Business News Daily, having adequate physical spaces in an office is essential to increase performance, motivate communication and allow employees to share ideas with each other. It is for that reason that I share 3 ideas that we must keep in mind in 2021 to keep our employees satisfied and therefore achieve are goals.

1. Invest in comfortable furniture

Break rooms and kitchen areas have become popular in every company. Business owners are aware that if their employees take 15 minute breaks every once in a while, their productivity increases when they return to work. We need to make sure that every piece of furniture in the break room area is comfortable so they can actually rest if they want to. We, business owners, also need to have in mind that investing in the correct office chair for our office employees is vital to keep them happy throughout the year. A chair that is comfortable can prevent an employee from complaining about lack of comfort at the workplace.

2. Create a fresh environment

Nothing influences the environment more than the decoration and colors we choose for our office spaces. The colors in the walls can influence an employee’s mood. The ultimate goal of our office spaces should be creating a place that favors optimal work performance and that allows workers to share ideas with joy and positivity. Clean, well-designed walls radiate freshness which is essential to keep our employees happy.

3. Keep the spaces sanitized and disinfected

It is necessary to clean the furniture, recreational spaces, and working areas daily. This will create a fresh, safe, and clean environment making the employees happier when they arrive to work. When every area remains fresh and disinfected our internal clients (employees) emit positive vibrations and infect others daily causing a positive impact in the desired goals. Trash, cobwebs, and dead bugs need to be regularly removed, the floor needs to feel clean and bright, carpets shampooed regularly, restrooms sanitized and cleaned, and windows need to be dusted constantly in order for the office to feel fresh.
